Easter means something more to us this year. A heartbreaking, painful one. A very dear uncle of ours,
is dying of cancer. He was named 'cancer warrior' by his doctor, for he has unprecedented survived 6 years of chemo-therapy (most people can't even withstand 2 years).
His family and extended family like us were devastated as the doctor broke 'the time is near' news merely a week before Easter. Some of us may seem ready but some seems not. In our human weakness, there is still much to let go.

Then come Passion Sunday, Good Friday and Easter. The readings we have heard countless times seemed to be nailing to my heart in extra depth this year. Easter may mean the return of spring to many, Easter bunny and eggs to the kids but, do you remember the true meaning of Easter is the manifest of God's divine love for humankind, by giving up His own son to death, so that we might have life and salvation? Isn't this something that God constantly wants to remind us, how much His love for us?
So why do we have to be so sad when someone we love is going back to the Lord? Shouldn't we be happier that he will be in good hands and God will end his suffering and restore him life at the gates of heaven? Why birth brings us sheer joy, but not when life reaches its full circle? We can't be more thankful for the HOPE that God has instilled in our hearts today through the death and resurrection of His son Jesus. That we, must first die in order to live again, and there will be victory after defeat, joy after every sorrow.
