Orlando Trip 2009 (Introduction)

I have to put 'Orlando trip 2009' because this is our... 5th trip? 6th trip? (lost count!) to Orlando. Orlando in Florida is the home to Walt Disney World. The 2nd Disney in U.S. but the biggest among all 5 in the world. It has 4 theme parks and 2 water parks, bringing millions of visitors to this deserted area every year.

The original Disney is called Disney Land and it's located in Los Angeles in California. It's been there for more than 50 years therefore it's more well known to people in Asia.

Richard and I am both kids person, the reason why we have kept coming back to Disney is because of its magic, its fantasy, and its core value for family. But this recent trip of ours lasted only 4 days having to cover parks, friends visiting and hopefully shopping...

Day 1 - We still went to work on Friday the 14th, our flight was scheduled at 8.35PM. Richard & I packed a lot stuff with us because we will be visiting the CHOWs (our dear friends from hometown), we packed Maggi Mee(instant noodle with laksa & curry flavor), keropok (Malaysian snacks), Maggi BBQ flavored snacks, the dried 'satay' (kids in KK loved to eat when they were little) among many others and wished that we could bring Ribena and Bovril. Too bad no liquid is allowed for carry-on luggage.

Everybody was so excited and couldn't wait till end of day, especially Zoe. When we finally checked ourselves in and reached the terminal, the screen showed that our flight was delayed for 1/2 hour. So we ate Mickey D and walked around to kill time before returning to the terminal again. Departure time was then 9.30PM, delay yet another 1/2 hour??!! Okay... typical thing to expect when travelling in U.S. (my record of experiencing flight delay in U.S. is 7 hours, so this is still acceptable)

But I didn't keep my fingers crossed. After doing nails (lol, I know, at the boarding hall) for half an hour, they extended another hour for departure, calling volunteers to give up seats because they have oversold the flight. First offer was $400 airline dollars good for travel within a year, no one responded. We were discussing how much money would we go for to surrender our tickets, some said $800, I said $1,000, Zoe said NEVER. (lol) After 10 minutes the offer went up to $600, too bad that few Indians offered their seats and we couldn't pursue with our wild dream of getting a windfall for another vacation.
