Thanksgiving is a big holiday only celebrated in the Northern America, it falls on the 4th Thursday in November for United States and 2nd Monday in October for Canada. Thanksgiving is the only holiday that most business (including restaurants and shopping malls) will be closed so the street is dead quiet except the route for Macy's Thanksgiving Parade.
Macy's Parade has become a tradition to New York since 1924. On this day they will have floats, marching bands, and giant inflated balloons travel from Central Park to Herald Square (where Macy's, the largest department store is located) and tourists and spectators alike will line up along the street and enjoy the most watched event of the year.
