It's year of the Tiger and we welcomed it with (as usual) a big feast. A homecooked meal is definitely anyone would ask for, and these were our highlights of the night...
This year's CNY coincides with Valentine's Day and it makes restaurants super crowded. The best thing is it falls on Sunday so more Chinese people can enjoy the parade in Chinatown without having to take a day off from work. There was a snowstorm few days before CNY, the mess was not totally cleaned up and you could see some old folks were having hard time getting around. One of my co-worker had 3 falls, one after another and had a blue eye and bruised face for Chinese New Year. So a pair of snow boots is really something one should invest on, to survive a rough winter in New York. Believe it or not, I haven't had one till this year, my 10th year, because of my difficulties in finding a kid's size with adult's design. And I trully glad that I did, it saves me from wet toes and slips.
