To keep up our tradition as Malaysian Chinese, a friend (Keiko)'s mom has been teaching us how to make authentic Malaysian specialties for CNY. Varieties we are not short of, picture shown just a few (namely: kuih-tapek, peanut cookies and mini-bites with pineapple fillings). In Malaysia we would only buy them for festivities, here we make them for reminiscence. That's the difference. And it's the difference that makes it tastier. Bon appetit!

The Year of 'Ra-ta-tou-ille'
It's a bit wierd to welcome the year of 'Rat' as rats are not really friendly animals to many especially the women. So why not call it a year of 'Ratatouille' or 'Mickey Mouse', to make it more delightful? lol.
